It was a really good day~
Ice cream for Murray's birthday.
A visit to morning star and haircuts for both.
Group picture selfie because I forgot my tripod.
Murray and Paisley joined us for a few minutes.
Kristin making noise in the kitchen made a wonderful distraction.
Paisley loves her gram and papa.
Mom slept through having her nails done and her hair trimmed.
That's ok, it probably felt really good.
Pampered papa with a shave and a hair trim.
I love this man more than life itself. He is my world.
A cute style for mom.
The before the haircut look.
How unfair life is sometimes as we grow older. With both mom and dad living with Alzheimer's disease, I focus on the moments we can be together and cherish every touch and look, because I know it could all be gone in a minute. Mom looked at us with a very strange face, kind of an angry face. Not knowing what she thinks when we come to visit makes it hard. She looks with a blank stare. This disease is not nice...not at all. It robs a person of their personality and dignity. This is not the life that either one of them thought they would ever be given...riding out their final years in a memory care unit.
We come, we visit, we clean them up and we sit and enjoy the moments. Every small, itsy bitsy, tiny little moment is filled with love. Lots and lots of love.
