Pray the right way~
Stop praying to God to change the world right now...instead, pray for God to give us strength and grace to take the first step in changing the world. Maybe we just need to change our environment first. Maybe we just need to change our outlook on things and that will eventually change the world. Baby steps.
I keep seeing posts to pray to God about the current situation in the world right now and to heal the disasters. The virus, the political uprising, the economy, the media, the children...so forth and so on. We all have the power in our lives to start the change. We are waiting for God to change it when we need to ask God to help us change it.
The current state of affairs in our world is awful. We are a nation divided with hate on both sides. It is so sad. We can't accept friends that disagree with us. We are all different and we need to embrace the differences. What we don't need is to push our beliefs on everyone. They are our beliefs. We all come with our own set of "what we think is right" thoughts. People need to quit pushing them on people.
Take the time to listen to others, share in their thoughts for just a minute. If after that minute you disagree with their ideas...move on to another topic.
Yesterday I had anxiety. Not the disabling anxiety I had after cancer, but an unsettling feeling. I let myself get weighed down with things that haven't even happened yet. Our new carpet has lines in it and I see them everyday. I have contacted the company and I need to trust that they will make it right. Instead I worry about it. I stress on the lines and I fixate on the outcome. Susan...have faith.
Today is Friday, nothing planned for this day. Sunday I have invited Drew and Hannah for dinner so I will probably make a cake today and freeze it so I can frost it on Sunday.
So I pray this simple prayer today that God gives me strength to change my outlook on my day and helps guide me to enjoy the moments and make little changes because little changes can someday make big changes.
